Cheadle Stand (home fans)
This all seater stand was built in the mid 90’s and was officially opened when the Hatters played a friendly against near neighbours Manchester City prior to the start of the 1995/96 season. Prior to the erection of this impressive stand, there was a small narrow terrace situated on this area of the ground which used to be where the away fans were situated.
The Cheadle Stand has a capacity of 5,000 and the facilities on offer to the fans are the best inside Edgeley Park. The stand houses the clubs conferencing and banqueting facilites which creates a lot of matchday revenue for the club.
Main Stand (home fans)
The Main Stand was built in 1935 and was upgraded to include plastic seats instead of wooden benches in the mid nineties. The facilities are very basic as it only has two food kiosks but they are very small so expect to be queuing up for some time during half time. There are several supporting pillars in the Main Stand which may obscure your view of certain parts of the pitch. The police control box is located in one corner of this stand.
Vernon Stand / Popular Side (home / away fans)
The Popular Side used to be terracing but it was changed in the early nineties to accommodate seats. The first three blocks of seats in the Popular Stand is allocated to the home fans with the remaining two blocks being allocated to the away fans. The Popular Side has the second best facilities on offer at Edgeley Park, the only problem with this stand is that there are supporting pillars blocking some parts of the pitch.
Railway End (away fans)
The Railway End was fitted with seats during the summer of 2001 after the League threatened to close the uncovered terrace as it failed to comply with the Taylor report. The Railway End is allocated to away fans and holds up to 1,200 people.
