Historial news from this day

In 2011 Didi Hamman was appointed as manager of the club by Tony Evans, with the latter still attempting to complete a takeover of the club from the 2015 Group. Hamman replaced Ray Mathias in the Edgeley Park hot seat despite Mathias being appointed as permanent manager by the 2015 Group just weeks earlier. The former German international left his role as a coach at Leicester City to take on his first managerial role as the Hatters prepared for life in non League football ahead of the 2011/12 season
